After getting over the fear of being in front of the camera, the next thing people want to know is what to bring.
- What if I don’t have the right clothes?
- Can I bring a friend?
- What about my hair or makeup?
You want to bring out the elegance inside you. You loved what was stated about being remembered as you are or the idea of reframing the narrative you hear in your head. Then these are the things to bring to your session.
Your Personality
The best thing you can do for your session is be you! Share your quirky side, your serious side, your bossy side… You name it. If it’s you, be real. It’ll show in your images.
Clothes That Make You Feel Comfortable
Choose an outfit you like. One that makes you feel beautiful. If you have one that you don’t necessarily like, it’ll show in the photos.
If we’re taking photos on the beach or in a field, wear comfortable shoes. If we’re in the studio, shoes aren’t as important but can be a fun addition.
A Date-Night Outfit
Bringing an outfit that would be perfect for a night on the town will enable us to get you in your element of fancy–even if that’s boots and a cowboy hat!
Foundation That Matches Your Skin
Whether we’re doing your makeup or you are, you’ll need a foundation that matches you. Please bring it with you, and if you have a favorite gloss or red lipstick, throw that in your bag as well.
Hair That Wasn’t Washed The Morning Of
You may think you need freshly washed hair for a photo session, but if we’re styling it for you, you don’t. It’ll style better if it hasn’t had all the product washed out that morning. So forego washing your hair before you come in.
Underclothing
Bringing a strapless bra will be perfect for a maternity session or if you want images in a flowy dress. Neutral underwear are best no matter what outfit you’re wearing.
A Friend–Or Not
Having a hype person at your session can be the best morale booster ever. But… It has to be the right person. You want your friend that’s going to encourage you, help bring out your smile, and catch the little things that are important to you.
But sometimes, you don’t want anyone. You want it just about you. If that’s the case, then don’t bring someone. It’s up to you.
As you pack your bag to come to your session, the most important part is not to stress! Relax! This is a couple hours in your day where you don’t have to worry. So, pack your bag with confidence with this checklist and come have fun.
